Hurricane Ernesto

Ernesto is moving toward the north near 15 mph with a gradual turn toward the north-northeast and a faster forward speed expected during the next 24 hours. This motion will take the center of Ernesto farther away from the coast of northeast Florida today and could bring the center near the North and South Carolina coasts last this afternoon or tonight. In light of the current location of hurricane Ernesto, Cumberland Island National Seashore officials have made the decision to reopen the park as of today Thursday, August 31 and conduct business as usual. Climate

Mild climate. Average temperature during the summer is 80F and the average teperature during the winter is 60F. The most precipitation is between the months of June-September. There is a consistent 90% humidity yearly average in the morning and 60% humidity yearly average in the afternoon.
